The hill-top village overlooking the plains below has been classified as “One of the Most Beautiful Villages in France”. It has retained much of its old character with a number of village squares, cobbled stone pathways, narrow passages and medieval buildings. The village is also proud of its connection with the artist - sculptor Max Ernst who spent his later years here and is commemorated at 'la maison de Max Ernst'.

Seillans has a good baker, butcher, a small grocer, post office, a Credit Agricole ATM and restaurants. The nearest supermarket (Super U) is at Fayence. Both Seillans and Fayence have public tennis courts and swimming pools.

Seillans is the perfect holiday location due to its reliable weather, close proximity to numerous sporting activities and also several highly respected restaurants.

There are a number of events throughout the summer in Seillans. The national day firework celebration on 14th July is an impressive night

Fayence, 7 kms east of Seillans, is a larger but also picturesque village that has a popular provencal market and many restaurants and cafes. While Saturday is the most popular market day, a market is also held on Tuesday and Thursday.

Draguignan, 37 kms west of Seillans, is the prefecture of the Var. It is a large town but has a compact 19th century centre, with wide avenues. There is a market on Wednesday and Saturday.

Grasse, 31 kms east of Seillans, attracts many tourists due to its reputation as the perfume capital of the world.

Bargemon – 13 kms from Seillans, up in the hills on the way to the Gorges of Verdun, has a pleasant square and village cafes.

Callas, 19 kms from Seillans, has a pleasant village square with petanque and café.

Mons, 20 kms from Seillans, is a true mountain village that is quiet and relaxing.

  Towns on the Rivera offer a wide range of activities

 

Cannes, 45 kms from Seillans, known globally for its annual film festival, offers an opportunity for a glamourous day’s shopping, sampling many of the good restaurants or relaxing on the beach. Nearby is the very smart village of Mougins, renowned for its excellent restaurants.

Nice, an hour from Seillans, offers cultural opportunities at its various museums, art galleries, opera and the theatre. Alternatively have a relaxing walk along the Promenade des Anglais or explore the old town.

Frejus, 40 kms south of Seillans, is well known for its Roman ruins. It is a popular tourist town with its history, proximity to the beach and a range of other activities such as a zoo and a waterpark (open from June – August).

St Raphael – 42 kms south of Seillans, is a popular seaside town.
