On the upper mezzanine there are three bedrooms, an independent bathroom and wc. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, french windows, a built-in wardrobe, an en-suite shower room with a wc, single basin and heated towel rail. This room is decorated in a neutral pink-beige frequently used in the Auvergne region. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, french windows, a built-in wardrobe, an en-suite shower room with a wc, single basin and heated towel rail. This room is decorated in a sunshine yellow frequently used in Provence. Bedroom 3 has a full length bunk bed and a double bed. It is decorated in blues and greens which reflect the peacefulness of the surrounding gardens and countryside. The separate bathroom has a bath with hand held shower attachment and a single basin. All rooms are tiled throughout and have solid oak doors. Every room has electric heating for winter use. The bedrooms have provencal style solid shutters and light curtains.
On the lower mezzanine there is a living/dining room which has comfortable sofas, a large marble coffee table, a local TV, DVD, VCR and CD player. A selection of toys and games and some videos suitable for 2 - 7 year olds are provided. The enclosed fan-assisted fireplace provides a cosy focus in winter. An additional marble dining table and four chairs allows for indoor dining. Views are of Seillans and the surrounding area. The adjacent open plan kitchen is very well equipped with an electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, a large refrigerator, a freezer, a dish washer and a good supply of kitchen utensils. There is a separate utility room that has a new washing machine. Beside the back door is another w/c.
The house has a wrap around terrace on different levels. At the front door (walk-in access only) there is a very large terrace with magnificent views over the valley leading to Fayence and beyond. Along the front of the house there is a dining terrace area with a pergola and wrought iron balustrade looking down over the beautiful pool and gardens. An oak table and six chairs are provided. At the back entrance there is a car port with covered walkway past the two master bedrooms down to the kitchen entrance. The turning area is large enough for a family car and is also protected with wrap around wrought iron railings. Behind the house there is a narrow area with storage and drying facilities. At the top of the back drive there is an electric gate that leads down to the parking beside the house. Two cars can park comfortably. The drive was resurfaced in 2005 and has lighting from top to bottom.
A beautiful 12x5 m solar heated pool is on the terrace below the house. It has a walk-in shallow end for young children to enjoy. There is also a spacious fully paved sunbathing area which catches the sun from 9 am to 6 pm. Sun loungers and parasols are provided. On the lower terrace there is a covered BBQ and a summer kitchen comprising a full size electric cooker and a double sink unit with a water heater. The large 10 x 5 m terrace is fully covered by another pergola. A teak table and six chairs are provided. A fridge/freezer is kept in the old “cabanon” at the other end of the terrace. Historically this would have been a farmer’s dwelling and it’s exceptionally thick walls are still very useful in summer for keeping things cool. Outside there are two centenarian mulberry trees originally planted for feeding silkworms for Seillans’s former silk industry. The whole garden and pool area has an extensive lighting system meaning the long evenings can comfortably be extended and making the gardens as beautiful at night as they are in the day.
